The ideal Assistant General Manager is capable of engaging with our guests and guiding through a unique Michelin caliber dining experience.

MAIN DUTIES

The role of the Assistant General Manager (AGM) is to provide primary support to the General Manager and Chef de Cuisine when necessary. The AGM will need to possess, deliver, practice and utilize strong management and leadership skills; quick and fair decision‑making abilities; and a strong work ethic. The position is responsible for the various tasks involved in the overall operation of the store, including measuring business trends and maximizing sales and profitability, and scheduling staff. The position requires availability to work full‑time and occasional extra shifts. The AGM must also be available on‑site, via email or phone, to address pressing restaurant needs, during and outside of scheduled shifts. Uphold Scratch Restaurant Group standards and ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a guest‑friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging every guest, and maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest services. Assist, coordinate, manage and execute private dining / off‑site events. Support the General Manager with employee hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, performance reviews, performance improvement plans and staff training. Address guest issues or complaints promptly, professionally and courteously. Assist with payroll processing preparation and missed punch reconciliation. Prepare staff schedules on a weekly basis. Encourage healthy communication between all team members. Answer general inquiry emails and questions in a timely manner. Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant and ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations. Assist in ordering, purchasing, inventory control and managing deliveries. Complete other assignments, projects and duties as directed by management. Minimum Requirements Ability to multi‑task and prioritize projects and tasks. Good oral and written communication, including math and reporting skills. Customer service attitude. Communication and team management abilities. Ability to communicate with co‑workers and guests in a noisy, fast‑paced environment. Availability to work within opening hours (e.g., evenings, holidays, weekends). High school diploma; ServSafe certification required. Provide exceptional customer service both internally and externally to ensure high customer satisfaction. Work collaboratively. Understand the mechanics of service. Work with minimum supervision. Skills in effective time management, organization, multitasking and prioritization. Maintain excellent etiquette and professional appearance on the phone and in person. Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Office products and Mac OS. High school equivalent mathematical skills. Previous experience with Tock and Toast preferred but not required. Travel may be expected for this position. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities. Physical Requirements Satisfactory vision. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (at least 8 hours per day). Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
