Litigation Associate

The Role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Run a personal caseload of business disputes with a high degree of independence, covering everything from discovery to hearings. Partner closely with several senior attorneys and clients in a lean, collaborative group, and take real ownership of each matter.
What You'll Do
Lead business dispute matters through every stage with considerable independence.
Conduct and defend fact and expert witness depositions.
Write and present pretrial motions before trial-level courts at both the state and federal level.
Prepare witnesses and lead the courtroom team at hearings and other proceedings.
Collaborate directly with several partners and clients on a range of cases.
What We're Looking For
5 to 7 years of civil litigation experience with genuine time in the courtroom.
A JD from an ABA-accredited law school and a license to practice in New York.
Familiarity with procedures in both local state courts and federal courts.
A record of independently handling depositions and preparing and presenting both discovery and dispositive motions.
Experience leading hearings, arbitrations or trials, along with witness preparation.
Excellent research, writing and verbal communication skills and a strong academic background.
Self-starter who takes charge of cases and is productive from the first day.
Willingness to provide a writing sample with the application.
Bonus Points
Experience at a small or mid-size firm rather than a very large one.
Working knowledge of common legal research platforms.
