Position Overview We are seeking a full-time Junior Associate Attorney eager to build a meaningful family law practice from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly barred or early-career attorney who wants hands‑on mentorship, real courtroom exposure, and the chance to grow within a well‑regarded boutique firm. You will work closely with the firm's founder, learning the craft of family law while taking on increasing responsibility over time. Responsibilities Support the principal attorney on active family law matters Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and client documents under attorney supervision Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries and strategy memos Assist with client communications, consultations, and follow‑up Appear in court and at hearings as experience and confidence grow Maintain organized, accurate case files and meet all deadlines Uphold the firm's standards for confidentiality, professionalism, and client care Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school Active membership in the Virginia State Bar (required) D.C. Bar membership a plus, or willingness to sit for the D.C. Bar 0–2 years of experience; new admittees are encouraged to apply Strong legal writing and research skills High emotional intelligence - family law clients are going through difficult times and require compassion and patience Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn Genuine interest in family law and alignment with the firm's values #J-18808-Ljbffr G.
