Associate Director, Annual Giving Overview The Division of University Advancement plays a pivotal role in ensuring the continued growth and excellence of The Catholic University of America. By fostering deep and meaningful relationships with alumni, parents, benefactors, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations, we secure vital financial support that fuels the university's mission. The projected salary range for this position, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation, is: $$70,000-$80,000 annually. Responsibilities Execute multi-channel annual giving campaigns. The Associate Director manages the implementation of campaigns across digital, print, and other solicitation channels. This includes coordinating timelines, ensuring content readiness, and overseeing deployment to target audiences, ensuring campaigns are delivered on schedule and aligned with overall strategy. Manage campaign calendars and production timelines. The Associate Director develops and maintains detailed campaign calendars that outline key milestones and deliverables. This includes coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and efficient execution. Develop targeted segmentation and outreach strategies. The Associate Director works with data and analytics teams to segment donor audiences based on giving history, engagement, and affinity. This includes creating tailored messaging and outreach plans for each segment to maximize response rates. Support execution of key fundraising initiatives and giving days. The Associate Director plays a central role in executing signature campaigns such as Giving Tuesday and fiscal year-end appeals. This includes coordinating communications, tracking progress, and supporting real-time adjustments during campaigns. Analyze campaign performance and recommend improvements. The Associate Director tracks key metrics such as response rates, participation, and revenue outcomes for each campaign. This includes preparing reports and identifying trends that inform future strategies. Collaborate with Advancement Communications and University Communications. The Associate Director works closely with communications partners to develop compelling messaging and creative assets, ensuring consistency in branding and alignment with institutional priorities. Partner with Alumni Engagement to support integrated strategies. The Associate Director collaborates with Alumni Engagement to align programming with fundraising initiatives, leveraging events and engagement opportunities to support donor outreach. Support donor retention and upgrade strategies. The Associate Director identifies opportunities to retain existing donors and encourage increased giving over time, supporting targeted outreach and stewardship efforts. Partner in the development and execution of a comprehensive communications and social media strategy. The Associate Director partners closely with Advancement Communications to assist in the design and delivery of targeted messaging that engages alumni across digital and traditional channels, ensuring communications are strategic, data-informed, and effectively drive engagement. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Practical Experience (years needed and type required) Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. At least three (3) or more years’ of marketing or fundraising experience preferably in higher education or related profession. Experience within Raisers Edge or another database CRM is preferred but not required. Relevant experience in annual giving, advancement, or a related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle deadline pressure and multi-task. Detailed oriented, with the ability to prioritize and see projects to completion. Technical Qualifications / Specialized Certifications Proficiency with CRM systems; experience with digital fundraising tools, direct mail platforms, and campaign analytics.
