Facilities Operations Center Dispatcher

Position Overview The City University of New York’s Department of Facilities Planning, Construction, and Management, through its Office of Facilities Maintenance, Operation, and Emergency Response, will lead the university’s shared facilities services operations across four regional maintenance hubs, supporting the maintenance and upkeep of CUNY’s portfolio of 300 buildings and 26 million square feet of educational facilities. Key Responsibilities Respond to facilities–related calls, emails, and Archibus requests; create and assign work orders. Dispatch daily service calls and requests to the appropriate facilities personnel. Coordinate service inquiries with management, trades, and hub staff. Operate the Archibus CMMS system to log, track, and update all service activities. Maintain accurate records and activity logs, including escalation of urgent issues to management. Ensure calls are answered professionally and followed through to completion. Communicate facilities–related emergencies promptly and effectively with hub management and the university community. Asset Management Responsibilities Maintain and track fixed assets and equipment. Coordinate and communicate with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Receiving, and Storeroom personnel to track and manage fixed assets inventories. Conduct physical inventories of College property in accordance with established federal, state, and city policies and procedures. Work with College Public Safety personnel to safeguard property and maintain proper equipment control. Maintain systems and databases to track assets; prepare and review routine reconciliation reports. Assist in proper equipment disposal, transfer and salvage activities following City, State, and Federal regulations and University policy. Assist in records management. May supervise personnel in conducting inventory and performing routine tasks. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred: Extensive operational experience in facilities or service settings; strong knowledge of skilled trades communication and proficiency in Archibus CMMS. Proven professionalism, phone etiquette, and customer service skills in interactions at all organizational levels. Exceptional attention to detail with strong conflict, resolution, and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to take initiative, manage complex situations, and convey information clearly. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and resolve challenges effectively. Proficiency in computer‑based data entry and email communication, with hands‑on experience using Archibus CMMS. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Compensation & Benefits Salary range is $68,668 – $74,754, commensurate with credentials, education, and experience. Location & Work Schedule Queensborough Community College, Facilities Services Hub, Bayside, NY. The position is on‑site, five days a week. Dispatch coverage is between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with shifts of either 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.
