RN Staff Nurse I - Neurology

Position Summary A highly collaborative and caring neurology clinic at the main medical campus is seeking a flexible, fast‑learning Staff Nurse I to serve as a primary liaison for older adults navigating memory‑related conditions. The outpatient role supports a dedicated team of providers and staff, assisting with clinic flow, patient testing, blood draws, and clinical procedures while managing MyChart messages, telephone inquiries, and necessary paperwork. Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM No nights, no weekends, no on call Location Main Medical Campus (4488 Forest Park Ave.) (Outpatient) Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Provide patient care, including administering medication, performing procedures, and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice. Provide appropriate counsel and education to patients and families regarding disease process and symptom management. Maintain medical records with timely and accurate documentation. Consult with health‑care team members, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Assist the health‑care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other direct patient‑care tasks. Maintain required skills and competencies, and participate in educational programs, staff meetings and services such as CPR as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions Normal office environment with exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and required protective devices. Direct patient‑care setting; typically seated at desk or table; repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Office and clinical/diagnostic equipment. Education & Qualifications Associate degree in Nursing. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, in accordance with Compact Act. Basic Life Support certification (hands‑on component required). Certifications & Licenses BLS – American Heart Association BLS – American Red Cross Registered Nurse – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Registered Nurse – Missouri Division of Professional Registration Experience & Skills No specific work experience is required for this position.
