Welder - Tig

Welder

A local Erie company is seeking a Tig Welder. The candidate will be responsible for safely operating welding tools to perform a variety of welding duties under the direction of the Supervisor. The ideal candidate will follow all company procedures and demonstrate the ability to operate manufacturing equipment with a high degree of detail.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and instructions and take direction on precise machine operations.
  
• Set-up equipment and workspace to insure productivity.
  
• Operate equipment safely and properly.
  
• Check finished products for accuracy and adjust as necessary.
  
• Organize and transport equipment and materials safely.
  
• Identify correct weld filler, wire diameter, and other materials needed to fulfil the needs of the project.
  
• Keep workspaces neat and orderly.
  

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or general education degree.
  
• Previous TIG and MIG welding experience.
  
• Ability to read/understand written and spoken direction.
  
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
  
• Willingness to learn the proper procedure for welding materials.
  
• Attention to detail.
  

Benefits/Compensation

• Full time
  
• $18-$28/hr based on shift
  
• 1st shift
