We focus on efficient and effective analytic execution, positioning ourselves as the go-to experts with deep knowledge and expertise, constantly striving for better, faster insights from data.We're looking for a Sr. Data Scientist to join Snap Inc.What you'll do:Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to deliver impactful, objective, and actionable data insights that enable informed business and product decisionsDrive informed and timely decision-making that improves and optimizes the way our products are created, executed, and adoptedCollaborate with product managers, engineers, product marketers, and designersThink creatively, proactively, and futuristically to identify and size up new opportunities within Snap's long term roadmap for data-scientific contributionsConduct machine learning or statistical analyses, and build pragmatic, scalable, and statistically rigorous solutions to deliver actionable insights, accurate predictions, and effective optimizationsCommunicate best practices in quantitative analysis and develop cross-functional partnershipsUtilize AI tools to more efficiently develop scalable data solutions, while maintaining rigorous standards for accuracy and statistical integrity.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Expertise using data modeling skills to identify key product trends and new product opportunitiesAbility to design implement, and track core metrics to analyze the performance of our productsAbility to create visuals, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate your insightsExperience collaborating with engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional teamsAbility to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidanceAn understanding of Snapchat with great product sense and product understandingAbility to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable mannerAdaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of data-driven decision-making, insights generation, and industry best practicesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, engineering or related field or equivalent years of practical work experience5+ years of post-Bachelor's quantitative analysis and data science experience; or a Master's degree in a technical field + 4+ years of post-grad quantitative analysis and data science experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 1+ years of post-grad quantitative analysis and data science experiencePreferred Qualifications:5+ years of experience using SQL or similar big data querying languages5+ years of experience with programming language, such as Python or R5+ years of experience with applied statistical techniques, such as inferential methods, causal methods, A/B testing, or statistical modeling techniquesAdvanced degree in applied mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics or related fieldExperience in a product-focused role at a social media, online advertising, digital media and/or mobile technology companyExperience using machine learning and statistical analysis for building data-driven product solutions or performing methodological research.If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don't be shy and provide us some information."Default Together" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $190,000-$284,000 annually.Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $181,000-$270,000 annually.Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $162,000-$241,000 annually. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
