Assistant Manager - Operations, Madison

Team & Opportunity The Hermès Maison Madison Boutique opened in 1983 and focuses on providing extraordinary service to clients as part of the New York Region. The assistant operations manager will report to the Inventory Control Manager and work collaboratively with the sales team and support teams in a fast‑paced, luxury environment. Responsibilities Oversee and manage all charge‑send functions. Partner daily with the Stock Controller and SSA to pull and process all charge sends. Collaborate with floor managers to ensure accurate handling of charge sends and verification of pulled items. Manage customer transfers in partnership with the shipping and receiving team. Coordinate outbound transfers, including larger‑scale rebalancing and destocking. Audit receipts to ensure accurate items are processed. Manage uniform distribution. Coordinate sales floor replenishment and respond promptly to store requests for sizes and products during transfers. Allocate resources effectively through strong scheduling management. Develop the team by ensuring thorough training on store operations and procedures. Train new team members in back‑of‑house (BOH) operations. Maintain organization and cleanliness in BOH areas and equipment. Support additional operational functions or projects as dictated by business. All other duties assigned by supervisor. Supervisory Responsibility No Budget Responsibility Yes Decision‑Making Responsibility Yes Qualifications 4+ years of retail management experience in a similar role; prior experience in a luxury environment preferred. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Strong POS and phone systems knowledge. Ability to work well under pressure and multi‑task. Acute interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style. Detail‑oriented and strong organizational skills. Customer service oriented. Ability to handle difficult situations with grace, compassion, and composure. Physical ability to lift 0–25 lb. without assistance. Compensation The range for this role is $66,560 – $77,653.
