Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a CA license for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring critical care and ventilator management skills.

• ICU setting within a hospital environment,
• Patient ratio of 1:2,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM,
• Epic charting system required,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required,
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS,
• MAB Training required,
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration required,
• Ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning skills required,
• Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required,
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required,
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required,
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management required,
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required,

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation based on patient age, condition, and culture,
• Demonstrate leadership on the unit and participate in multidisciplinary care conferences,
• Act as patient and family advocate throughout care process,
• Preferred experience includes charge nurse background, teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II settings,
• Preferred skills include cardiac surgery care (CABG, ECMO, Impella, IABP, TAVR, VAD), CRRT/CVVHD, chemotherapy administration, and neuro critical care (EVD, ICP monitoring, TBI, spinal cord injury),
• Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings preferred,
• Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate,
• Local candidates accepted at local rate,
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler,
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract,
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas,
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing,
• First-time travelers not considered for this role
