Human Resources Technician II Under general supervision, performs a variety of responsible technical and administrative support activities for human resources functions, including assisting with recruitment, benefits administration and related special projects; prepares, reviews, and distributes human resources information systems records; assists in completing human resources studies and reports; and performs duties as assigned. Responsibilities Maintain confidential personnel records and serve as the department's Records Coordinator. Schedule and coordinate meetings; prepare and proofread correspondence, reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other documents. Fax, copy, file, and organize all office files. Review and process reimbursements and payment request vouchers for completeness and policy compliance. Conduct research and compile information. Maintain departmental calendars and coordinate travel arrangements. Monitor the Department's budget and reconcile credit card purchases. Process temporary staffing requests and shift bid requests. Order and maintain an inventory of office supplies, and coordinate facility and equipment service requests. Identify issues proactively and recommend practical solutions, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within established procedures and deadlines. Collaborate with the team and consult management as appropriate when resolving routine issues. The Ideal Candidate Direct experience providing administrative and technical support within a complex human resources environment. Working knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices and employment processes. Prior human resources experience within a public agency highly desired. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn Human Resources business systems and platforms such as Oracle JD Edwards, NEOGOV and Cornerstone. Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements High school diploma or G.E.D. supplemented by specialized training in human resources or a related field. Three (3) years of providing technical support to a human resources program/function. Salary Hiring Salary Range: $48.96 - $53.97 per hour (starting salary within this range based on qualifications) Vacancies 1 Physical Demands Mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; primarily sedentary office work but standing and walking between work areas may be required; occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information; ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 35 pounds. Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Finger dexterity to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Work Location Assignment: Employees will be assigned to a work location based on business needs which may be located at any/all of OC San locations; this work location may be changed at any time. Environmental Elements Office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
