Position Summary Moorings Park is seeking a dedicated and talented Director of IT Architecture to join our team. The Director of IT Architecture is responsible for designing and maintaining Moorings Park's technology architecture to ensure systems are secure, integrated, and aligned with operational needs. This role focuses on system integration, cloud architecture, identity and access management, and cybersecurity design. The Director serves as a hands-on technical leader in a lean IT environment, working closely with the CIO, IT team, and external partners to ensure technology solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities. The position emphasizes execution over theory, translating business needs into clear, actionable technical designs and ensuring systems work effectively together.

Key Contributions
  • Coordinate technical planning for large-scale systems initiatives; collaborate with business units, functional managers, and senior IT leadership to define goals, objectives, and design plans.
  • Research external trends, industry standards, and business developments in networks, client/server platforms, cloud, and emerging technologies.
  • Plan and design complex, multi-tiered systems supporting mission-critical applications.
  • Develop and support the organization's cloud architecture and migration roadmap.
  • Design and maintain secure architecture standards, including identity and access management, cybersecurity controls, and Zero-Trust principles.
  • Lead cybersecurity architecture initiatives, including risk assessments, security controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Oversee short- and long-term architecture strategies; deliver and oversee partner/vendor technical engineering for architecture layers/services.
  • Manage performance of mission-critical systems; evaluate and recommend new technologies where appropriate to improve system performance, security and integration.
  • Develop and maintain technology standards, guidelines, and reference models to ensure consistency, integration, and future-proofing.
  • Provide technical input into vendor selection, solution design, and architecture-related investment decisions.
  • Ensure systems are designed with a focus on integration, simplicity, and long-term maintainability in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Assess network security risks and evaluate controls.
  • Deliver hands-on technical work (including design, scripting, and implementation) while mentoring and providing technical guidance to the IT team and partners.
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships; negotiate contracts and monitor performance.
  • Serve as organizational thought leader, advocate, and consultant on technical planning; conduct presentations, meetings, and status reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required.
  • During emergencies or natural disasters, may be required to remain on duty for the duration of the event.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent (8+ years in professional work experience). Master's degree is desirable.
  • Additional certifications in enterprise architecture, technology infrastructure, and network administration preferred
  • 10 years varied experience in systems administration, programming, systems analysis, and project management.
  • 4+ years in planning/architecture development and support as line or staff management.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating systems in multi-user, multi-platform, multitasking environments.
  • Extensive high-level systems planning, design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting in complex mainframe/client-server systems.
  • Experience in healthcare or senior living preferred.
  • Proven project delivery and multi-disciplinary team coordination; rapid delivery orientation.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and executive presentation skills.
Relevant Certifications for this position may include the following:
  • TOGAF 10 (or TOGAF 9)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100) or Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
  • CISSP or CCSP
  • AWS Certified Security - Specialty
  • ITIL 4 certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA)
