Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

We are working with an investment bank seeking an experienced Shared Services FP&A professional to join its finance team in a role that blends core FP&A support with a meaningful AI, automation, and process improvement mandate. You'll bring finance and allocation experience to build credible partnerships across the team, understand existing processes, and identify opportunities for improvement. Alongside this, a significant part of the role is focused on documenting workflows, streamlining recurring processes, and applying AI tools and automation to make the team more efficient, scalable, and analytically effective. Core Mandate Operate as a member of the Shared Services FP&A team, supporting and helping automate recurring finance processes tied to shared services functions, cost drivers, budgeting, reporting, and allocations. Document end-to-end team processes, inputs, owners, timing, dependencies, controls, and outputs, to surface opportunities for AI-driven simplification and automation. Identify and help lead practical AI and process automation improvements across recurring FP&A activities, reducing manual work and accelerating analysis. Partner with FP&A leadership, technology partners, and shared services stakeholders to embed more efficient workflows. Balance day-to-day FP&A and allocation support with a continuous improvement mandate. What You’ll Do Support recurring reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost center support, and allocation-related analysis for Shared Services. Review existing deliverables and processes to identify opportunities to streamline handoffs, reduce manual spreadsheet work, improve controls, and standardize outputs. Lead AI and automation initiatives, including workflow redesign, reporting automation, template development, prompt engineering, and enhanced analytics. Create clear process documentation and partner with the team to map pain points and prioritize improvements. Improve executive reporting and management analytics, making outputs more consistent, better documented, and more insight-oriented. Work cross-functionally with Shared Services stakeholders to implement sustainable, well-controlled process improvements. Drive adoption of improved workflows through training and documentation. What We’re Looking For ~6–8 years of FP&A, corporate finance, shared services finance, finance transformation, or related experience. Experience in a shared services, corporate functions, or back-office finance environment with strong command of FP&A fundamentals: budgeting, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, allocation logic, and management reporting. Hands‑on experience with AI tools (generative AI, LLMs, AI‑assisted analytics) and automation within a finance or business operations setting. Track record improving manual finance workflows using AI and automation, documenting processes, or redesigning recurring deliverables. Comfort operating at the intersection of finance, data, AI, and technology. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex data and allocation methodologies. Process‑oriented, proactive mindset with a bias toward improving how work gets done.
