This job is in the Plant family (department), which includes positions responsible for performing the work of receiving, processing, storing, & distributing of metal. Job Functions Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions Responsible for moving inventory or equipment, filling customer orders, pulling material from racks, unloading incoming material, loading trucks and/or customer vehicles, & helping maintain the upkeep of the warehouse Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations Pulls and assembles orders based on reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation Tags material for proper identification and completes all required documentation Moves material from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition Sorts and places material on rack, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code Spot checks on inventory, completes daily and/or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction Restocks material May occasionally drive motor vehicle (non-DOT truck) for local deliveries and parts pick-ups Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management Required Skills & Qualifications 0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities Warehousing and material handling experience preferred. Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications required. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds repetitively. Ability to stand for sustained periods of time Ability to push or pull 80 pounds of force Ability to go up and down off truck trailers repeatedly Employee is subject to temperatures in excess of 100 degrees F and below 32 degrees F Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers 1st Shift - 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday) 2nd Shift 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday) 3rd shift - 9:30 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. (Sun - Thurs) *1 opening #J-18808-Ljbffr
