Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce is partnering with a client in the Saint Louis area to identify a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical capabilities and a desire for long-term growth within a dynamic organization. The Senior Accountant will support key accounting and financial reporting functions, including analyzing costs, trends, and variances, preparing financial analyses, and partnering cross-functionally to improve processes and reporting efficiency. Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting, reporting, forecasting, and analysis for payroll, compensation, benefits, pension, and related accounts
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and other general accounting activities
• Partner with business leaders on department budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial presentations
• Support 401(k) and pension audits, including audit requests, Form 5500s, and financial statement reviews
• Assist with ad hoc projects, system implementations, process improvements, and cross-functional accounting support
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, SOX, internal controls, and company policies related to compensation and benefits

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong Excel skills, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and advanced formulas; experience with Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, OneStream, and Blackline preferred
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive financial and employee data

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
