Assistant/Associate Professor of Architecture (Technology)

Position Assistant/Associate Professor of Architecture (Technology) Institution Harvard Graduate School of Design Department Architecture Position Overview Harvard’s Graduate School of Design invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track or part‑time practice professor focused on design computation, fabrication, AI/machine learning, and related digital media. The selected candidate will engage students in the M.Arch I and M.Arch II programs, the Master in Design Studies, and the Master in Design Engineering. Responsibilities Teach required introductory courses in Computational Design / Digital Media and Digital Fabrication. Teach advanced courses in these areas or in AI/machine learning. Participate in design studio reviews and offer instruction in core technology topics of the M.Arch I program (e.g., structural design, construction technology, sustainability, computational design studio, digital media). Collaborate with the Center for Green Buildings and Cities and/or the Laboratory for Design Technology. Engage with related disciplines across Harvard, such as engineering and computer science. Basic Qualifications Doctoral degree in a related field preferred; or a master’s or advanced degree in architecture or a related discipline with exceptional experience and achievement. Additional Qualifications Anticipated start fall 2027. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis beginning July 2026. Salary Range (Full‑time) Assistant Professor in Practice of Architecture (design computation): $120,000 – $140,000 (pro‑rated for 50%–75% FTE). Assistant Professor of Architecture (design computation) – tenure track: $120,000 – $140,000. Associate Professor in Practice of Architecture (design computation): $135,000 – $165,000 (pro‑rated for 50%–75% FTE). Associate Professor of Architecture (design computation) – tenure track: $135,000 – $170,000.
