Practice Assistant – Litigation

The Practice Assistant – Litigation provides high-level administrative support to attorneys and legal professionals in a fast-paced law firm environment. This role is responsible for preparing, formatting, proofreading, and managing legal and business documents, coordinating domestic and international travel, processing reimbursements and invoices, assisting with conflict checks and new matter intake, and supporting client billing and time entry. Additional responsibilities include managing electronic and paper files, coordinating mail and document production, handling workflow requests, and serving as a professional point of contact for clients and colleagues.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Strong communication, proofreading, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Candidates should possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, document management systems, and electronic signature software, as well as experience with legal administrative functions.

A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with 4–5 years of experience supporting attorneys and paralegals in an administrative or client-service capacity. The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, perform extensive keyboard work, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. The compensation range for this California-based role is $44.10–$66.20 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
