Role Description
The Tax Manager is responsible for executing and advancing the company's tax compliance and reporting processes across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This role engages with internal finance, legal, and operational teams along with external advisors and subcontractors to coordinate filings, resolve tax matters, and manage regulatory obligations. This role is important because it provides accurate, timely, and well-structured tax execution that supports financial outcomes, maintains compliance, and informs business decision-making. Key Responsibilities
• Execute and advance compliance processes for federal, state, local, property, indirect, and business taxes, including filings, apportionment, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Coordinate with external advisors, third-party subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to complete filings, respond to audits and notices, and maintain alignment with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
• Apply tax accounting and technical knowledge to translate book-to-tax differences and resolve operational tax matters.
• Compile, analyze, and communicate tax data to support reporting, including partner distributions and leadership updates.
• Administer business licenses, registrations, and jurisdictional compliance requirements tied to operations.
• Partner cross-functionally with finance, legal, and operations teams to gather data and execute tax-related processes.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5-8+ years of relevant tax experience across public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination of both.
• Demonstrated experience executing federal, multi-state, and indirect tax compliance processes, including preparation or review of filings.
• Working knowledge of tax accounting concepts, including book-to-tax differences and tax depreciation.
• Experience coordinating with external tax advisors, third-party providers, or subcontracted resources supporting compliance activities.
• Ability to independently manage tax processes, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and the ability to work with large datasets.
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA license or progress toward certification.
• Experience with property tax administration and compliance.
• Experience with partnership taxation and partner distributions.
• Experience in construction, real estate, or project-based industries with multi-jurisdictional operations.
• Familiarity with sales and use tax compliance and audits.
• Experience managing tax credits, incentives, or grants.
• Exposure to tax provision processes.
