About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Great communication skills Description: Number of Beds: 30 beds with the potential to increase to 36. Number of Staff: 45 employees. Day Shift staffing includes 1 Clinical Coordinator, 5 RNs, 2 Techs, and 1 Unit Secretary. Night Shift staffing includes 5 RNs and 2 Techs. Patient Ratios are 1:5 to 1:6. Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs. Electronic Medical Record system is Meditech. Candidates must possess the ability to take care of pediatric patients. Familiarity with post-operative orthopedic care is preferred. Typical procedures performed include post-operative care for orthopedic and spine surgical patients as well as podiatry patients. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude. Strong patient advocacy skills are essential. Dress Code: Scrub color is navy blue/white. Hoodies, pullovers, and T-shirts are not permitted. The unit has received recognition for being Joint Commission Certified for hip and knee replacements and was a Unit of Distinction winner in 2019. It ranked 16th among 2,000 medical/surgical units and achieved top patient experience scores measured through HCAHPS.
