Registered Nurse 1 – Correctional Health

Title: Registered Nurse 1 – Correctional Health

Requirements:

• Valid NY State RN license (current registration) — required
• BLS certification — required
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals.
• Conduct nursing assessments and develop/implement care plans.
• Diagnose and treat responses to actual/potential health problems.
• Provide case finding, health teaching, counseling, and supportive/restorative care.
• Consult with treatment teams and participate on interdisciplinary teams.

Compliance / Notes:

• State criminal history form clearance required before start (may take up to 4 weeks).
• Returning staff must be away from any NY State facility for 2 years before returning.
