GNC Engineer - Dallas, TX

We are seeking an experienced Guidance and Control (GNC) Engineer to support missile system and fire control system design, development, integration, and test at Lockheed Martin. Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy embedded algorithms for inertial tracking, navigation, and sensor fusion. Develop, verify, and validate models and simulations, including matched filters and convolutional neural networks, to detect targets. Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and verify subsystem requirements. Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities for ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL). Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and external customers. Collaborate with small teams across multiple programs at varying stages of product development. Qualifications BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related STEM field plus 1+ years of relevant experience. United States citizenship required; interim Secret clearance required at the start. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively. Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and briefing customers. Familiarity with software development environments (e.g., Git) and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, FORTRAN, or Ada. Experience with simulation and test environments (6‑DOF inertial flight simulators, HWIL, flight test). Solid foundation in linear algebra, dynamics, coordinate‑frame transformations, and state‑estimation techniques. Desired Skills Linux‑based operating system experience. Knowledge of linear algebra, probability and statistics, state‑dynamic equations, Kalman filters, kinematics, and rotating coordinate systems. Hands‑on integration and testing of hardware and software in HWIL. Prior flight‑test support experience. Willingness to travel up to two weeks for flight‑test support at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. Active Secret clearance. Benefits Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits package.
