Job Title Metrology Electronic Calibration Technician Reporting To Quality Assurance Supervisor Work Schedule Onsite – Torrance, CA Job Overview Our team in the Military Aircraft Group is looking for an experienced Electronic Calibration Technician with a background in complex electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, servo, and electronic equipment. This role requires proficiency with precision measuring equipment and strong planning, organization and interpersonal skills to support calibration and repair operations. Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent technical training in a relevant field plus 3 years of experience in electrical calibration, assembly, repair or maintenance, or High School diploma or GED with demonstrated ability to understand instructions and perform mathematical operations, plus 7 years of experience in electronic calibration, assembly, repair or maintenance of components and test systems. Proficiency in the use of precision electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical measuring equipment and standards to calibrate and assist repair of electronic components and complex test stands. Strong planning, organization and interpersonal skills to effectively perform calibrations/repairs and resolve or escalate issues for timely return to service. Responsibilities Calibration: Complete calibrations of electronic related measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision. Interpret drawings, calibration procedures, Moog specifications, manufacturer’s instructions, and applicable Military Specifications. Perform fault isolation diagnosis, support other departments, and assist in capability studies. Vendor Calibration: Manage vendor interactions, process vendor certifications, handle equipment returned for calibration or repair, support on-site vendor calibrations, and coordinate laboratory standards. Training: Undertake appropriate training with equipment changes and improvements to stay current with technology. Procedures: Provide recommendations for updating calibration test procedures and data sheets, working with calibration engineers or senior technicians. Records: Ensure accurate maintenance of calibration records, traceability to National Bureau of Standards, compliance with Military Standards, review calibration data for accuracy, and complete necessary forms. Requirements Compliance: Support internal, regulatory, registrar, and customer audits. Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions. Continuous Improvement: Recommend procedure improvements, recommend purchase of new equipment, participate in lean/visual management initiatives, and perform other related duties.
