Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Tech) – Travel Contract in Baltimore, MD

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Cardiac Sonographer or Echo Tech who is passionate about pediatric echocardiography and evaluating congenital and acquired cardiac conditions across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and select adult patient populations. Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer Job Details

• Location: Baltimore, Maryland 21201
• Assignment Type: Pediatric cardiac sonography travel contract
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Assignment Length: Approximately 8 weeks, through January 11, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,300–$2,470
• Schedule: Five 8-hour day shifts per week, Monday–Friday
• Shift Hours: Approximately 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Call: Required as scheduled, including approximately one weekend call rotation per month; weekday overnight call may also be assigned
• Daily Volume: Approximately 6–8 echocardiographic examinations
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting and Imaging Systems: Epic and PACS
• Equipment: GE and Philips
• Additional Scheduling Expectations: Holiday coverage may be required. Floating within the department may be needed based on operational requirements.

Cardiac Sonographer Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as an Echo Tech or Cardiac Sonographer, including pediatric cardiac imaging
• ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer credential with pediatric specialty (RDCS PE) required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Experience performing pediatric and neonatal echocardiograms, including congenital cardiac evaluations
• Proficiency with 2-D and 3-D echocardiography, M-mode, color Doppler, pulsed-wave Doppler, continuous-wave Doppler, and contrast imaging
• Experience with portable studies and imaging patients in intensive care or emergency settings
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to work independently, participate in call coverage, and float within the department as needed
• Travel experience is preferred but not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Current influenza vaccination required

Pediatric Echocardiography Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive echocardiographic examinations on neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and other assigned patients
• Evaluate patients with congenital and acquired pediatric cardiac disease, including complex and postsurgical cardiac conditions
• Perform routine, portable, ICU, emergency department, and contrast-enhanced cardiac imaging studies
• Obtain and document high-quality 2-D, 3-D, M-mode, Doppler, strain, and ventricular function measurements within established protocols
• Support imaging of conditions such as septal defects, Tetralogy of Fallot, transposition of the great vessels, hypoplastic heart syndromes, coarctation of the aorta, and other congenital anomalies
• Complete accurate documentation and transmit studies through Epic and PACS
• Communicate effectively with providers and the interdisciplinary care team regarding examination findings and technical considerations
• Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and professional quality standards during every examination
