Position Summary: Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a Senior Grants Manager on our Fond du Lac Campus. The Senior Grants Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Moraine Park Technical College's grant development, management, compliance, and reporting functions. This position leads institutional efforts to identify, secure, implement, and sustain external funding opportunities that align with the College's mission, strategic priorities, workforce needs, and student success initiatives. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field., five years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, grants management, sponsored programs administration, institutional advancement, project management, or related areas and three years of experience demonstrating leadership, which may include supervision, project management, or leading cross-functional initiatives, with responsibility for influencing outcomes, supporting others, and driving results. Responsibilities: • Lead the College's strategic grants development efforts by identifying, pursuing, and securing external funding opportunities aligned with institutional priorities, workforce needs, and student success initiatives.
• Research, write, coordinate, and ensure timely submission of competitive grant proposals and related materials for federal, state, local, corporate, and private funding sources.
• Oversee post-award grant administration activities to ensure compliance with funding requirements, reporting obligations, budgets, timelines, and performance measures. Partner with Finance to monitor grant expenditures, ensure allowable costs, and support financial reporting and audits.
• Provide project management leadership for grant-funded initiatives and institutional projects involving cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with College leadership, faculty, staff, business partners, community organizations, and educational institutions to develop and implement grant-supported programs and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain institutional processes, procedures, tools, and training resources related to grants management, compliance, and reporting. Maintain and manage a pipeline of grant opportunities, success rates, and funding trends.
• Monitor grant performance outcomes and utilize data, analytics, and institutional metrics to support evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with funding agencies, governmental organizations, community partners, philanthropic organizations, and workforce development stakeholders.
• Support strategic institutional initiatives involving workforce development, digital transformation, AI integration, operational improvement, and emerging educational trends.
• Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and funding summaries for College leadership, the District Board, and external agencies.
• Serve as an institutional resource and subject matter expert regarding grants strategy, compliance requirements, funding opportunities, and sponsored program administration. Provide training and guidance to faculty and staff on grant development, compliance, and project implementation.
• Hire, mentor, and supervise assigned employees. Responsible for the performance management, coaching, and ongoing growth and development of direct reports.
• Manage the departmental budget and monitor associated expenses for areas of supervision. Provide input for planning and budget development to include current expenses, major equipment, and College Initiative requests.
Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above): • Demonstrated success securing and managing federal, state, private foundation, or workforce development grants.
• Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
• Experience interpreting regulations, policies, compliance requirements, and funding guidelines.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work; analyze information, resolve problems and make recommendations. Knowledge of continuous and performance improvement concepts.
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills, customer service, organizational, planning, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity. Desired Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in related field.
• Previous experience within higher education, workforce development, or public sector environments.
• Experience with federal grant programs such as Department of Labor, Department of Education, National Science Foundation, Department of Justice, or workforce development initiatives.
• Project management certification or formal project management experience.
• Experience with strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, data analytics, or performance measurement systems.
