Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC

Must-Have: 2 years of Emergency Department experience.

Description: The Emergency Room operates as a Trauma Level IV facility. The average number of patients treated daily is 40-60. Nurse-to-patient ratios during the day are 1:3-4. During the night, the ratios are reduced. There are dedicated triage areas for patient assessment. Traveling nurses can triage after reviewing facility policies and procedures. The department has a holding area, with overflow utilizing adjacent rooms. Psych patients can be housed in designated seclusion rooms as needed. Security is not in-house 24/7; local police are utilized for emergencies. Staff includes both Emergency Department Physicians and Mid-Levels available 24/7. Charge nurses may take on patient assignments during shifts. Support staff includes CNAs, medics, and LPNs assisting throughout the department. Respiratory Therapy services are available 24/7 within the ER. X-ray services are located nearby and are operational 24/7. Phlebotomy services are available to draw labs around the clock. Schedules are created by management, aiming to limit consecutive shifts. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Holiday coverage includes working at least 2-3 shifts during peak times. Floating may be required to support inpatient needs. Scrub colors are solid and must be clean and professional.
