Intern 2The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), a 98-year-old, nationally recognized organization serving the vibrant and culturally diverse populations of Montgomery and Prince George's Counties on the border of Washington, D.C. The Office of the Chief Information Officer, (OCIO) is seeking an Intern 2. The position will work 15 hours per week at an hourly rate of $22.00 to $22.50 per hour.Examples Of Important DutiesDuties and Responsibilities to be Assigned:Works closely with small communications team to assist with implementation of developed communication plans for technology project campaigns to employee stakeholders.Implementation of communications plans may include:Writing copy for emails, graphics, instructional materials, and intranetDeveloping and managing project SharePoint sitesCreating stakeholder feedback surveys, monitor surveys, analyze data, and write data summary reportsAssisting with contract graphic designer to develop graphics for project campaignsWorking with communications team to plan, design, and launch department newsletterWriting, recording, editing, and posting instructional videosAssists with communications coordination for governance groups by preparing PowerPoints / slide decks, reports, or other informationAttends project team meetings as well as department staff meetingsLearns and / or knows digital communications complianceProvides excellent customer service to employeesBe a collaborative, cooperative team member who will work with cross-functional teamsBe solution-orientedBe willing to work under established – sometimes tight -- deadlinesOther duties as assignedCourse Background/Skills Needed (training, experience preferred or required): Understanding of / Experience in / Willingness to Learn Microsoft 365 apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Forms, Outlook and Clipchamp)Exhibits a polished, professional writing styleDemonstrates superior written EnglishPossesses the ability to take complex ideas and turn them into easily understood copy in EnglishBuilds trust with stakeholders and team members by communicating promptly, following through, completing assignment, and meeting deadlinesRefined digital production skills (recording, editing, etc.)Ability to move between varying levels of stakeholder groups with comfort (executive-level, subject matter experts, end users, etc.)Support the mission of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission by managing physical growth, protecting natural and historic resources, and providing recreational experiences for Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, Maryland.Additional Qualifications High level of professionalism (punctual, communicative, reliable, respectful)Computer skillsWillingness to learn new digital skills to accomplish project goalsSense of humorHigh level of curiosityMinimum QualificationsStudent who has received a Bachelor's Degree and accepted or enrolled in a Master's Degree Program in a field of study related to the discipline of the area to which assigned.Supplemental InformationClassification Specification Intern 2 May be subject to medical drug and alcohol testing. Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees Health Insurance Plans You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period. If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.
