Job Description

This role supports the end-to-end production of drug‑loaded polymer microspheres used in medical devices. You will prepare and handle chemical solutions, operate specialized manufacturing and laboratory equipment, perform in‑process inspections, and maintain accurate documentation in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. The position follows a structured weekday schedule with defined shifts and requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, mixing, inspection, filtration, and documentation of solutions used in the production of drug‑loaded polymer microspheres.
• Prepare solutions by accurately weighing, mixing, heating, cooling, sampling, and filtering materials according to established procedures.
• Operate mixers, jacketed tanks, temperature control units (TCU), peristaltic pumps, ultrasonic baths, bottle rollers, and balances safely and efficiently.
• Perform in‑process inspections and environmental controls to ensure products and processes remain within defined specifications.
• Complete batch records and controlled documentation accurately and in a timely manner to ensure full traceability of manufacturing activities.
• Follow line clearance procedures, cleaning protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and all safety guidelines.
• Escalate deviations, out‑of‑specification results, or unusual observations to supervision or engineering for review and resolution.
• Operate machinery to produce medical devices in accordance with manufacturing instructions and product specifications.
• Follow manufacturing instructions and update relevant job documentation accurately to support traceability and compliance.
• Perform product packing activities and prepare products for sterilization according to defined procedures.
• Inspect products using a microscope to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
• Perform setup, verification, and teardown of equipment before and after processing to ensure proper operation and cleanliness.
• Prepare solutions and production materials required for microsphere manufacturing and related processes.
• Perform manufacturing tasks including fabrication, in‑process testing, and packaging of products.
• Document all production activities in manufacturing lot history records with clear, complete, and accurate entries.
• Clean production equipment and the production area to maintain a controlled and compliant environment.
• Perform basic analysis of data, as needed, to support process monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot product and process-related issues within defined procedures and escalate when necessary.
• Work safely with toxic chemicals and powders in a laboratory and cleanroom manufacturing environment, following all safety and handling protocols.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with chemicals in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, specifically supporting openings in the Microsphere Department.
• Experience working in a lab environment with basic math skills and comfort working with toxic chemicals.
• Hands-on experience in assembly or manufacturing, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical, or related cleanroom environments.

Work Environment

This position is based in a cleanroom and manufacturing environment with laboratory elements. The role follows a weekday schedule in the Microsphere Department with shifts that include 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; either 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. on Wednesday; and 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. on Thursday. You will work with toxic chemicals and powders, operate production and laboratory equipment such as mixers, jacketed tanks, temperature control units, peristaltic pumps, ultrasonic baths, bottle rollers, and balances, and perform tasks under cleanroom and GMP conditions. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to PPE, sanitization, line clearance, and safety protocols to maintain product quality and a controlled workspace

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.40/hr.
