Job Title: CVOR RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 4 shifts per week Experience: 2 years License: WA or Compact License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Experience in circulating duties. - Knowledge in multiple types of cases, including cardiac. - Experience with ENT procedures. - DaVinci Xi experience required. Description: The unit has 22 suites with the capability to expand to 26 across three floors. The average number of cases per day is between 50 to 65, which includes 2 to 5 cardiac cases daily. Common cardiac cases include CABG, MVR, AVR, commando procedures, MAZE, and other complex valve repairs. Staff may need to float and circulate in various specialties when the cardiac load is light, including GYN, Urology, Vascular, Plastic, Orthopedic, Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General, Sports Medicine, Kidney Transplant, and ENT. The hospital handles large and complex cases, utilizing the DaVinci Xi for GYN, Urology, and General procedures. Experience in scrubbing is preferred, and charge nurse duties may be required. Employees will use EPIC as the electronic medical record system. Shifts are scheduled from Monday to Friday with variable start times of 0630, 0900, or 1100. There is no self-scheduling, but start times remain consistent within the same week. Tuesdays and Fridays typically have later start times for in-services and team meetings. Weekday call is from the end of the shift until 7 AM the following morning, with weekend call being a full 24-hour shift from 7 AM to 7 AM. Call shifts are rotated and scheduled by the manager. Scrub colors are teal, in accordance with dress standards. Unit orientation includes 5 to 10 days of training on the unit with a preceptor. Professional relationships among staff and physicians are noted to be collaborative and supportive. Travelers often extend their assignments when satisfied. Cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled within the 13-week assignment. Charting is conducted using Cerner.
