QA Data Analyst & Telemetry Specialist

Salary: $162,490 - 178,922 per year Requirements:

• At least 7 years of professional experience, including 3–5 years of recent cross-functional experience, ideally in a large organization or team.
• Hands-on experience with data analysis using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools.
• Ability to create clear visualizations with tools such as Superset, Plotly, Tableau, Looker, Grafana, or Power BI.
• Ability to write concise reports with actionable insights, such as weekly summaries, defect overviews, and quality scorecards.
• Familiarity with log analysis tools such as Sumo Logic, Splunk, Datadog, Kibana, or Elasticsearch.
• Ability to discuss and design instrumentation and logging with engineers.
• Familiarity with QA concepts, release validation, and production monitoring.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to tailor information for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Helpful additional experience includes QA, test automation, or release engineering; OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or event-driven logs; continuous delivery and real-time observability; or incident reviews and quality postmortems.
• A bachelors degree or higher is preferred in computer science, data science, information systems, software engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, or computer engineering. Equivalent practical experience, especially in QA, data analysis, SRE, or systems engineering, is also welcome.
• Relevant certifications in data analytics, SQL, Tableau, or observability and monitoring tools are a plus.

• Investigate logs, trace product issues across environments, and analyze system behavior to support QA investigations and test coverage strategy.
• Partner with engineers to define, scope, and validate telemetry requirements so the right quality signals are captured.
• Design and maintain role-specific dashboards covering test results, coverage trends, performance metrics, and release health.
• Prepare structured reports and summaries that combine narrative, visuals, and metrics to communicate product quality, test outcomes, and production health.
• Support QA and development teams with root cause investigations using logs, traces, metrics, and real-world usage patterns.
• Collaborate with QA, Engineering, Product, and Data teams to align on relevant signals and how stakeholders use them.
• Define and refine KPIs for bug trends, feature coverage, regressions, and release readiness to inform QA strategy.
• Turn telemetry and other raw data into dashboards, investigations, and concise reports that support quality decisions.
