Team Lead - WI

Job Description Supervise and coordinate activities of team members engaged in manufacturing products of a specific product line or department. The team lead will: Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and all applicable laws. Coach, develop, and train team members on the technical and administrative portions of the role, including conducting production work, following work instructions, completing Syteline transactions, and conducting cycle counts. Support the supervisor by documenting employee performance and conducting 45‑day, 90‑day, 6‑month, and annual reviews. Approve timesheets and PTO requests. Issue corrective actions (verbal warnings as the initial step). Be capable and willing to produce the work in the shop area they lead. Assign and direct work to employees. Address quality and throughput concerns. Primary Responsibilities Ensure safety is the #1 priority at all times. Participate in and promote safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements. Lead and direct the daily Tier 1 meeting. Lead the production team in the absence of the Production Supervisor. Maintain and monitor production goals and communicate requirements to team members. Coordinate production schedules and work with supervisors to estimate team member hour requirements and overtime needed. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders (BOMs) with support from Engineering and assign workstation duties. Open and/or close the shop as necessary to support production shifts. Initiate, assist, and/or cooperate in the set‑up and implementation of improvement initiatives. Work with and support the use of Shop Trak, Syteline, and Visual Dispatch to sequence jobs through the shop. Coordinate with Planning to ensure cycle counts are done in a timely manner and scrap logs are filled out and adjusted accordingly. Facilitate and support employee records for training, safety, attendance, and production, submitting information to Human Resources in a timely manner. Report machine and equipment malfunctions to the Maintenance department using Somax. Communicate with the team and other Team Leads to coordinate activities of individual departments. Enforce company policies, rules, and regulations in a firm, fair, and consistent manner. Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 3–5 years of related production work experience and a working knowledge of production operations. Capable of conducting the work in the area they lead. Ability to hold people accountable. Ability to support constructive work relationships; communicate both orally and in writing. Basic math skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to read a ruler or tape measure. Problem‑solving ability. Forklift certification required (or obtain upon hire). Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
