Job ID: 10470448 | Amazon.com Services LLC Overview Senior Operations Manager responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives at the site. Responsible for all aspects of operations or functions at the Fulfillment Center, and for leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring to meet performance objectives, building positive employee relations, and strengthening leadership bench within the FC. Responsibilities Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and the FC to meet and exceed the business plan. Oversees overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience for inbound or outbound operations. Sets and clarifies requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance, provides feedback, and holds managers accountable for their teams. Leverages Operations and Area Managers to source ideas and develop improvement plans for the functional area. Takes proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across departments, shifts, and the network. Collaborates with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Sr. Operations Managers) to secure resources for projects and initiatives and to support staff initiatives. Additional Job Elements Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head Walking in the FC and around the area with high frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily Work in construction / distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not air-conditioned Able to access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation) Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques Preferred Qualifications Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field and MBA preferred Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
