Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of cardiac telemetry/PCU step-down experience.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting, also functioning as PCU/DOU/IMC step-down
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required, with holidays as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Cares for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post CABG, and pre/post TAVR
• Manages cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Cardizem, and Dopamine
• Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Utilizes TR Band, pacemakers (temporary/permanent), and post cardiac angiogram/MI care

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Telemetry/PCU step-down experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care/management
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs required
• Experience with Heparin protocols and titrating cardiac drips
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required
• Copies of all current certifications required

Additional Information

• Responsible for direct patient care on a cardiac telemetry unit, including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Only one holiday time-off request approved per contract
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Local candidates accepted at local rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
• Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation to be eligible to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not required for this role
