Lecturer Position

The Physician Assistant Program at Mississippi State University's Meridian campus invites applicants for a time-limited, non-tenure track position as Lecturer. This role will be responsible for teaching or course development.

Salary Grade: UC

Area of Specialization: Master of Physician Assistant Studies

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Development, delivery and assessment of current, objective-driven course material.
• Student performance evaluation.
• Early identification of students struggling to achieve course and program learning outcomes.
• Development and implementation of remediation plans and early intervention plans of action.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful applicants will hold a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or related field.
• Qualified through academic preparation (advanced degree or other academic background) and/or experience to teach clinical pharmacology at the master's degree level.
• Recent practical expertise is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Classroom or clinical teaching experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with physician assistant scope of practice and ability-based curriculum is a plus.
• Ability to be an effective educator.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Commitment to student success.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
