What You'll Do As a Field Service Engineer, you'll serve as the face of Xylem Technologies in both the office and field, helping customers install, maintain, optimize, and repair our automation systems. Responsibilities Install, commission, and validate Xylem Technologies automation systems at customer facilities. Support remote troubleshooting tickets through phone, email, and video conferencing. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software issues on production equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and system health inspections. Train customer operators, maintenance personnel, and production managers on equipment operation and best practices. Optimize machine performance to improve throughput, consistency, and uptime. Document service activities and provide detailed technical root cause analysis reports to identify opportunities for product improvements. Represent Xylem Technologies with professionalism while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Qualifications Willingness to travel up to 66% of the time throughout North America. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or equivalent hands‑on experience. 3+ years servicing industrial automation, packaging equipment, robotics, laboratory equipment, CNC machinery, or manufacturing systems. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servo motors, pneumatics, and industrial controls preferred. Familiarity with machine vision systems is a plus. Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
