ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

SUMMARYThe Assistant Controller oversees general ledger and financial reporting functions within a government contracting environment. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, FAR/DFARS, and DCAA requirements, and supports accurate financial reporting, audits, and indirect rate management.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOversee general ledger operations, including project and indirect cost accountingManage close cycles and ensure financial reporting accuracy and timelinessReview financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with government requirementsAnalyze indirect rates and support provisional and final rate calculationsEnsure compliance with FAR, DFARS, internal controls and company policies and proceduresPrepare incurred cost submissionsServe as primary contact for financial statement and DCAA auditsMaintain and enhance accounting policies and proceduresSupervise and develop accounting staffConduct regular internal audits of billing and payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and the integrity of financial data. Includes reviewing transactions, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actionsCollaborate with Contracts, Program Management, and executive leadershiQUALIFICATIONSEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience4 – 6+ years of management experienceStrong experience with general ledger management, close processes, and financial reportingExperience with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint preferred)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong understanding of ERP systems and system controlsDeep understanding of government contract accounting and complianceStrong leadership and analytical skillsAbility to oversee complex accounting operations and auditsAdvanced Excel and reporting capabilitiesWork Environment and Physical RequirementsWork is primarily performed in an office environmentMay require extended hours during peak periods (e.g., month-end close)Physical activities include sitting, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds)Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures #J-18808-Ljbffr
