This position will play a key role in overseeing general ledger operations, financial reporting, government contract compliance, audits, and the continued development of the accounting team. Responsibilities Oversee general ledger operations, including project and indirect cost accounting Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and supporting schedules Review financial statements for compliance with GAAP and applicable government requirements Analyze indirect rates and support provisional and final rate calculations Prepare and support incurred cost submissions Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, DCAA requirements, internal controls, and company policies Serve as a primary accounting contact for financial statement and DCAA audits Conduct internal reviews of billing and payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance Identify accounting discrepancies and implement corrective actions Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff Partner cross-functionally with Contracts, Program Management, and executive leadership Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience 4–6+ years of accounting management experience Strong hands-on general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting experience Government contracting/accounting experience strongly preferred Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DCAA, indirect rates, and government contract compliance preferred Experience managing complex accounting operations and supporting external audits Strong understanding of ERP systems and accounting system controls Deltek Costpoint experience preferred Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities What We’re Looking For Our client is looking for an experienced accounting leader who combines strong general ledger expertise with proven managerial experience.
