Summary Athletic Trainers are responsible for providing training services for local schools and community events, as well as sport‑specific rehabilitation/reconditioning for injured athletes. They serve school‑aged and adolescent athletes and work within the Sports Medicine Program to evaluate injured athletes and assess capabilities. Responsibilities Apply a broad knowledge of medical problems and use assessment and evaluation skills while collaborating with healthcare professionals. Communicate effectively in high‑stress situations with patients, medical professionals, staff, and families. Establish daily hours of operation for the athletic training facility and maintain a clean, sterile environment. Develop comprehensive venue‑ and condition‑specific emergency action plans to be rehearsed annually. Establish working relationships with designated team physician, community physicians, school nurses, athletic directors, and coaches. Complete Memorial Healthcare System policies training, including Blood Borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan, HIPAA, and related regulations. Maintain thorough injury tracking and documentation, ensuring accurate medical records of all injuries and rehabilitation procedures.
