Electrician

Job Summary The Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining existing electrical system infrastructure (facilities and production equipment) to ensure safe and reliable electrical equipment and infrastructure for all employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.Location: Charlotte, NC. Shift: Days 5:45am–6:15pm. Compensation & Benefits $34.45–$38.70 per hour $5,000 Sign‑On Bonus Day1 Health, dental, vision, 401(k) and wellness programs (starting Day1) Essential Job Duties Runs conduit and piping to specifications, pulls wire, and completes terminations. Performs troubleshooting and completes repairs for single phase and 3‑phase power electrical and controls systems. Completes calibration and set‑up of instrumentation devices and transmitters. Interprets technical documents and diagrams including factory manuals, blueprints, schematics, single line electrical drawings, mechanical and electrical equipment schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Applies code for troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo controllers, and related systems. Identifies aging and obsolete automation hardware. Adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies such as NEC, EPA, UBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 79. Implements plant and maintenance safety procedures including Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out, Arc Flash, Hot Work Permits, and confined‑space entry. Controls food handling before and after equipment inspection and repair activities. Attends training to maintain skill level with industry changes. Suggests improvements to optimize the maintenance program. Documents planned and unplanned work findings in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Resolves equipment breakdowns and repairs using root cause analysis (RCA), breakdown failure analysis (BDA), and cause maps. Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies such as ultrasound, thermal imaging, electrical and current analysis to prevent failures. Works with the maintenance team, planner, supervisor, and others to prevent recurrence of failures. May perform additional duties as required. Scope of Responsibility This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge and Skill Requirements Reads, comprehends, and executes detailed written and oral instructions, correspondence, and memos. Writes and presents information to customers, clients, and employees in one‑on‑one and small group settings. Communicates professionally with all employee levels. Works effectively as a team member in a collaborative environment. Uses electrical diagnostic tools such as Fluke multimeter, ohmmeter, megger, and other troubleshooting hardware. Performs simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers, decimals, fractions, and mixed numbers. Measures using tools and converts measurements between feet/inches and decimals. Draws and interprets bar graphs. Uses a computer for data entry and documentation of maintenance findings. Uploads and downloads technical manuals and specifications from CMMS or the internet. Uses a basic calculator. Demonstrates attention to detail, mechanical ability, and multitasking skills. Makes sound decisions under pressure and resolves complex problems in high‑stress situations. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED; minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility (Food & Beverage preferred) performing electrical maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. Where applicable, must pass an electrical comprehension test. Preferred Qualifications Some college or formal technical school education with demonstrated aptitude and skills in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, and chiller applications. 4+ years of experience as an industrial maintenance electrician. Professional Licenses or Certifications Obtain and maintain all applicable state permits and licenses. Forklift certified or able to obtain forklift certification. Valid driver’s license required.
