Lead Installer/Fabricator

Location: Allendale, MI

Shift: 1st Shift – Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (Overtime as needed, including Saturdays)

Pay: 1st Shift – $22.00 per hour

Job Summary

Workbox Staffing is looking for an experienced and motivated candidate for a Lead Installer/Fabricator role in Allendale. As a Lead Installer, you will be responsible for operating metalworking machines such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses, including computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal. Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering, and similar equipment to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, partition frames, dust-collection piping, material-handling systems, roof decking, and sheet-metal buildings. Install sheet metal products in accordance with specifications and building codes. As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for the fabrication of custom sheet metal components used in a variety of industrial applications. You will work with precision, attention to detail, and efficiency to ensure all parts are fabricated to meet client specifications and quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Lead Installer/Fabricator , your core responsibilities will include:

Fabricate sheet metal components from raw materials according to project specifications

Use hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery to cut, bend, punch, drill, and shape sheet metal

Assemble fabricated parts and perform final checks for quality and accuracy

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to ensure precise fabrication of Components

Perform welding, riveting, and soldering as needed to complete assemblies and parts

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly cared for and stored

Measure and inspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet the required dimensions and quality standards

Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines

Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and company guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Assist in the setup and operation of fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, and laser cutters

Troubleshoot and resolve any fabrication issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production flow

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on fabrication equipment as necessary

Assist in organizing the team for all activities

Coordinating with the Team Lead for efficient and quality fabrication of customer products

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:

2+ years of previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or related work

Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or a related field

Proficiency with metalworking machinery and hand tools, including shears, press brakes, and welders

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work specifications

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Good knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, or Stick welding preferred)

Ability to measure and cut materials with high accuracy

Mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve fabrication issues as they arise

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Willingness to work as part of a team to meet project deadlines

Ability to follow all safety procedures and work guidelines

Able to travel for 50-75 % of the time

Good driving history

Valid driver's license

Skills:

Previous experience with HVAC systems

Experience with metal fabrication machinery

Strong use of mathematics

Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, and work specifications.
