Position Description

Position Summary

The Plant Maintenance Technician keeps the plant, yard, grounds, and production equipment running safely and reliably. This is a hands-on, multi-trade role. The technician performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on gasoline and diesel-powered equipment, hydraulic systems, plant plumbing and compressed air, light electrical systems, HVAC units, building and grounds, and the concrete batch plant and its associated conveyors, silos, gates, and material handling equipment.

The successful candidate is a practical generalist who can diagnose a problem, decide whether to repair it in-house or call a specialty contractor, get the equipment back into production quickly, and document what was done.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two to three (2-3) years of hands-on industrial, plant, fleet, facilities, construction, agricultural, or marine maintenance experience with demonstrated working knowledge across multiple trades.
• Demonstrated general working knowledge in each of the following: gasoline and diesel engine maintenance and repair; hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair; plumbing; light electrical; HVAC basics; concrete batch plant or comparable heavy industrial process equipment; landscaping and grounds equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, parts diagrams, schematics, and hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical prints.
• Competent use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring tools, and diagnostic instruments (multimeter, clamp meter, pressure gauges, torque wrench).
• Basic oxy-acetylene cutting and MIG/stick welding ability sufficient for repair and fabrication work.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
• Ability to pass the company's pre-employment written maintenance skills assessment with a score of 75% or better, plus a hands-on practical evaluation.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Basic computer and smartphone skills for work orders, email, parts ordering, and documentation.
