Ground Freight Operations Specialist, Inbound

Required Qualifications

• Experience & Education: High School Diploma required (Logistics/Supply Chain degree preferred) + 1–3 years in transportation operations, dispatch, or delivery coordination.

• Systems & Tools: Hands-on TMS experience (e2open TMF or Descartes Aljex strongly preferred) and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and Teams.

• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of US ground freight (FTL, LTL, Intermodal) and standard shipment lifecycles.

• Financial & Audit Accuracy: Proven skill in document auditing (POD validation vs. system records) and dual-system cost/revenue reconciliation before billing.

• Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for interfacing with drivers, carriers, receiving facilities, and internal teams.

Preferred Skills

• Logistics Tech: Familiarity with tracking and scheduling platforms (MacroPoint, Tive, Open Dock) and complete freight billing workflows.

• Security & Compliance: Experience with cargo security best practices, chain-of-custody protocols, and high-value or security-sensitive accounts.

• Operations: multitasking in high-volume environments with sound judgment on issue resolution vs. escalation.

Responsibilities

Experience with real-time visibility and telematics platforms (MacroPoint, Tive) and dock scheduling tools (Open Dock).

• Familiarity with freight billing workflows and what constitutes a complete, billable file.

• Understanding of cargo security best practices, chain-of-custody requirements, and security-vetted carrier programs.

• Experience supporting high-value or security-sensitive customer programs with prescriptive SOPs.
