For more information, visit Summary Martin Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented On‑Site Buyer to oversee daily non-stock purchases within the customer’s MRO storeroom and tool cribs. This is an on‑site position located at a customer‑owned manufacturing facility and requires close collaboration with maintenance, operations, and procurement teams to support daily production needs. The Buyer is responsible for purchasing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials, equipment, supplies, and services, following established purchasing regulations and procedures. They review and analyze purchase requisitions, identify and develop reliable sources of supplies, prepare bid specifications, request bids, evaluate quotations, and act as a liaison between user departments and vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong industrial purchasing background in a manufacturing environment, with experience supporting machinery, tooling, and industrial maintenance operations. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, purchasing and inventory experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced industrial setting. Additionally, the Buyer performs storeroom duties, including receiving materials, stocking inventory, cycle counting, point‑of‑use replenishment, and related tasks. Key Responsibilities Become proficient with ERP system. Review and analyze departmental purchase requisitions, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information. Contact departments or initiators to clarify or complete requisition details. Determine appropriate method for processing requisitions based on factors such as dollar amount, timeliness, existing contracts, and competitive bidding. Identify and select vendors based on criteria like price, quantity, quality, and delivery date, and place orders accordingly. Possess knowledge of purchasing practices, procedures, materials, products, and the commodity market within the area of specialization. Prepare and analyze complex technical specifications and bids. Create and review purchase orders. Resolve accounts payable issues and handle purchasing data input and retrieval. Assist internal and external customers by addressing inquiries both verbally and in writing. Provide customer service within the storeroom, including pulling orders based on customer needs. Requirements 3 Years of Purchasing Experience, in a manufacturing or industrial setting (preferred) Strong organizational, communication, and mathematical skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to lift at least 30 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for long periods. Preferred Experience Experience working with OEMs and industrial suppliers. Familiarity with industrial maintenance operations and machine tooling.
