Job Summary: Support nursing practice and patient care delivery through a blend of direct patient assistance, communication, client care support, and clerical duties. This role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care within an environment that values best practices, exceptional customer service, and relationship-based care.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Fiscal Responsibility: Complete assignments within delegated timeframes. Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and transport. Conduct hourly rounds to collect and transport specimens. Maintain transportation area cleanliness, restock supplies, and report equipment issues. Manage time and supplies efficiently, respond promptly to communications, and support scheduling and supply changes to ensure quality and cost-effective care.
• Staffing and Scheduling: Notify at least two hours before shift if unable to work. Follow staffing policies including reassignment and schedule requests. Adhere to punctuality and minimize personal distractions during work hours.
• Quality: Collaborate as a team member in continuous quality improvement initiatives. Provide compassionate care tailored to patient age and diagnosis. Suggest improvements to enhance patient experience and document care per unit standards.
• Patient Satisfaction: Advocate for patient rights and promote a positive care model. Enhance patient comfort by providing necessary items and clear instructions. Adapt routines to individual needs and assist nursing staff in improving patient satisfaction. Foster respectful communication with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members.
• Patient Safety: Safely transport patients using proper identification and fall prevention techniques. Prepare patients for transport, manage necessary equipment, and provide physical and emotional support. Initiate basic life support if needed and ensure proper handoff to receiving departments.
• Professional Growth: Recognize personal limitations and seek assistance proactively. Share knowledge through orientation and cross-training. Demonstrate leadership as a role model and resource. Engage in ongoing learning and participate in departmental goal development and training.
• Customer Service: Uphold high customer service standards, address ethical concerns, and promote teamwork. Exhibit courtesy, compassion, and respect to all individuals. Practice AIDET communication techniques to engage patients and families. Maintain a professional environment and flexibility with assignments and staffing needs.

Work Shift: 4th Shift (overnight)
