Loan Producer

Receives and handles loan calls from members. Receives and processes members loan applications received via fax, phone, or online. Completes the necessary system input including decision recommendations, reasons for your decision and forwards the application to the Loan Underwriters. Explains loan programs to members, evaluates their needs, and recommends loan options. Cross-sells Credit Union products and services.

Requirements

To complete and forward applications to underwriting in an average of 10 minutes and follow up of pending applications at least on a weekly basis.

Input all data with 100% accuracy.

Stay informed of all products and services offered by the credit union.

Cross sell assigned volume of other credit union products and services.

To maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance and demeanor.

This job requires you to be here on time and ready to work your scheduled hours.

Remain objective and make recommendations based on what is best for the member and the credit union.

Be aware of department issues and bring them to the manager's attention along with solutions of how to remedy them.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills:

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Must have good communication skills. PC, 10-key calculator, Excel, and keyboard skills.
