RN - Operating Room (OR) - Surg Room

Protouch Staffing is hiring an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN OR) for a contract opportunity at a leading Level 1 Trauma Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Job Details

• Position: RN - Operating Room (OR)

• Location: Oak Lawn, IL

• Duration: 13 weeks (Apr 6 - Jul 4, 2026)

• Schedule: 40 hours/week (10-hour day shifts)

Requirements

• 2-3 years of acute care OR experience

• Must be able to scrub and circulate

• Trauma experience (Level 1 or 2 preferred)

• BLS certification required

• Experience with EPIC charting

Unit & Case Mix

• 28 OR beds (including hybrid rooms)

• 60-75 cases/day

• Cases include:

  • Trauma (GSW, stabbings)

  • General, ortho, neuro, vascular

  • Open heart (CABG), transplant (kidney/heart)

  • Robotic, urology, gyn

• ~20% pediatric cases

Work Environment

• 1:1 patient ratio

• Magnet-designated facility

• Comprehensive Stroke Center

• Strong support staff (charge nurse, educators, resource nurses)

• Advanced equipment including EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis

Schedule & Call

• Day shifts (10 hours)

• Weekend rotation: Every 4th weekend

• On-call: 3 shifts in 6 weeks

• Holiday coverage required

• No floating
