Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee our housekeeping team at DoubleTree in Wood Dale, Il. This position involves supervising the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in housekeeping, and a passion for providing excellent guest service. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Training:

- Supervise the daily activities of the housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housemen, and laundry staff. 

- Train new and existing staff on proper cleaning techniques and the use of cleaning equipment and products. 

- Schedule staff shifts and manage daily assignments to ensure coverage and efficient use of resources. 

• Quality Control:

- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and service areas to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met. 

- Monitor cleaning procedures and use of cleaning agents to ensure compliance with safety and health regulations. 

- Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues related to housekeeping service or cleanliness. 

• Inventory Management:

- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet daily operational needs. 

- Control inventory costs and place orders for supplies as needed, ensuring budget compliance. 

- Organize and maintain the storage areas to ensure cleanliness and safety. 

• Reporting and Documentation:

- Prepare and submit reports on housekeeping operations, including staff performance, guest feedback, and inspection results. 

- Document and report any maintenance issues or potential safety hazards to the maintenance department promptly. 

- Keep records of staff attendance and performance for payroll and human resources purposes. 

• Team Leadership:

- Foster a cooperative and harmonious working environment to facilitate team spirit and improve morale. 

- Address any staff conflicts, disciplinary issues, or performance concerns in a timely and professional manner. 

- Encourage staff development and provide feedback and support to team members. 

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in hospitality or hotel management is a plus. 

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. 

- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team. 

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

- Proficiency in housekeeping management systems and basic computer applications. 

- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. 

- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
