About the Role:

We’re hiring four Member Benefits Specialists to join our Core Processing team. You’ll review and process member payment requests across all of our products, including our member owned medical cooperative, our dental product, and our medical preventive benefits. The position also will answer member questions on our phone line during busy periods. A key advantage of our products are the way we handle payments: promptly, with minimal red tape, and always with the member’s experience in mind. This position is central to delivering on that promise.

You’ll join at an exciting time. Membership is growing fast, and we’re launching a new payment request system on January 1, 2027. You’ll learn our products from experienced teammates and help shape how the team works in the new system.

The ideal candidate is:

• High customer service while communicating with members with a high understanding of our products.

• Detail-oriented and analytical: you enjoy working through documents and policy rules to get the right answer the first time.
\n
• Consistent: you apply the same policy to every member, and you can explain a decision clearly and kindly, including when the answer is no.
\n
• Productive and organized: you manage a steady queue of work, meet turnaround goals, and know when to ask for help.
\n
• Curious and coachable: you want to learn our products deeply and grow into a Senior role over time.
\n

Responsibilities:

\n
• Review and process member payment requests accurately and on time, following established policies and procedures.
\n
• Verify member eligibility and documentation, and follow up with members and providers when information is missing.
\n
• Track work and document decisions in our systems.
\n
• Provide backup support to the Member Support phone line, answering member questions about requests and benefits.
\n
• Escalate complex or unusual requests to a Senior Specialist or the Member Benefits Manager.
\n
• Participate in quality reviews and training, and suggest improvements to processes and member experience.
\n
• Learn and adopt our new payment request system, and help identify issues during the launch.
\n

• Payment requests are processed accurately and timely.
\n
• Members understand benefit programs and how they work and we achieve high member satisfaction.
\n
• You’re fully productive across products within your first several months and bring forward ideas to improve how the team works.
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working within a policy framework.
\n
• High customer service mentality.
\n
• Clear, professional written and phone communication skills.
\n
• Ability to manage a queue of work independently and meet deadlines.
\n
• Successful background check.
\n
• Analytical mind. Experience with evaluation and processing.
\n
