Growing together.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:The Senior Accountant, Optum Whole Health Solutions, is responsible for owning the end-to-end accounting function for a variety of products and servicesMaintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reportsReconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end closePrepare journal entries and review accounting classifications in accordance with GAAPPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliationsAssist with or lead month-end and quarter-end close processes for assigned areasPrepare documentation to support internal and external auditsAnalyze financial statements, including balance sheets and other financial reportsPerform ad hoc reporting, investigate issues, and provide clear explanations and recommendationsPartner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Product, Intersegment) to resolve issues and support business needsIdentify process improvement opportunitiesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent2+ years of professional accounting experienceExperience with account reconciliations and financial analysisIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft ExcelSolid understanding of GAAP and financial statementsProven ability to assess and interpret business needs and requirementsProven ability to identify solutions and solve moderately complex problemsPreferred Qualification:Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft experience*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment.
