Our Shift Supervisor position is designed for individuals who want to take the next step beyond hourly team member responsibilities and begin building a career in restaurant leadership. As a Shift Supervisor, you'll gain hands-on experience leading shifts, coaching team members, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting restaurant management.

This role serves as an important stepping stone within our leadership development pathway and provides opportunities for continued growth within Old Carolina Barbecue Company.

Leadership Development Opportunity

As a Shift Supervisor, you'll develop valuable leadership skills while learning how to:

Key Responsibilities
Shift Leadership
• Lead daily shift operations and support restaurant management
• Ensure smooth execution of service during assigned shifts
• Maintain a positive, productive, and guest-focused environment
• Communicate expectations and priorities to team members
• Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, and hospitality
Team Development
• Support the training and development of restaurant team members
• Provide coaching, encouragement, and recognition
• Promote teamwork and accountability
• Assist with onboarding and development of new employees
• Help create a positive and engaging workplace culture
Guest Experience
• Deliver exceptional hospitality and guest service
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly
• Create a welcoming environment for guests and team members
• Ensure company service standards are consistently followed
Food Quality & Safety
• Ensure all BBQ and menu items are prepared according to company standards
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health department compliance
• Monitor product quality, consistency, and presentation
• Promote cleanliness and operational excellence throughout the restaurant
Operations & Compliance
• Support opening, closing, and daily operational procedures
• Follow cash handling, safety, and security procedures
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Assist management with operational priorities as needed

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, retail, or customer service leadership experience preferred
• Previous shift leader, team lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Work Schedule

This position may be offered as either full-time or part-time based on business needs and candidate availability.

Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.
