Machinist – Lapper We are seeking a detail‑driven Machinist – Lapper to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate lapping machines to remove material from gage blocks with extreme accuracy, playing a critical part in producing high‑precision measurement standards. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, values accuracy, and takes pride in producing high‑quality results. You will work independently while collaborating with teammates to meet daily production goals. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate lapping machines according to the manufacturing plan Remove material from gage blocks to exact specifications Measure gages throughout the process using precision measuring tools Continually monitor machine operation, adjusting feed and temperature as needed Inspect parts to ensure quality standards are met and identify any flaws Troubleshoot issues and work with supervisors and coworkers to resolve them Perform routine cleaning and basic machine and work‑area maintenance Meet daily production assignments while maintaining consistent, high‑quality output Follow all safety, quality, and process requirements Perform other duties as assigned What We’re Looking For Ability to absorb training and accurately follow detailed instructions Strong attention to detail and a habit of double‑checking work Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently Good problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork Why You’ll Love This Job Work with purpose: You’ll play a key role in producing high‑precision gage blocks used as measurement standards.
